Severo glanced over when Seri came out with a basket of clothes in one hand against one hip, and Skya in the other. He still couldn’t really move, but the pain was less than earlier. Though, he may have passed out for a moment there…

“You did laundry?” he asked.

“I checked on you before doing it. You were asleep. Your vitals are still elevated, but nothing has spiked. Your temperature is odd though—it keeps going up and down.” Seri walked over, setting Skya down in her playpen before taking a seat on the floor by the couch with his basket. “How are you feeling?”

“Still in pain, but nothing too horrible.”

Okay, it was horrible, but he was pretty sure he wasn’t dying. At least, he hoped he wasn’t. He’d feel really bad if he died. Because he knew Seri would blame himself. And yeah…he really wasn’t ready to die…

“Are you lying to me?” Seri narrowed his eyes at him.

Ah right…he was supposed to be honest, for…science. Well, shit… “Okay…it is horrible, but I’m not dying.”

“Still can’t move?”

“Not really.”

“If you can’t move by tonight, I’m calling Ender…”

“What could he even do?”

“They have access to more medical equipment, not to mention more medicines, than I do. That alone is reason enough to contact them.”

“I’m sure I’ll be fine.”

Seri’s face pinched. “You saying you are fine is making me want to throw something at you.”

He chuckled. “Perfect time to do it. I can’t block at all right now.”

To be honest, he couldn’t say he hated that Seri was worrying about him. Though he didn’t like causing him to worry, the fact that he was did make him a little happy.

Seri turned away with a hmph, and began to fold clothes, grumbling. “As if I couldn’t hit you even if you could block.”

He smiled, eyes tracing the back of the Nymph’s slim neck. He frowned when Seri’s shoulders sagged. Damn…the man was really worried, wasn’t he? Ahh…he wanted to hug him and cheer him up.

A flash of an oddly familiar color of blue caught his attention. His eyes widened when he recognized the pair of electric blue boxers Seri was folding. “That’s mine!” he squeaked.

Seri glanced back, brow raised. “Of course it’s yours… I washed your clothes.”

“Why did you wash my clothes?!”

The Nymph's face twisted, looking mildly disgusted. “You know you seem so clean and put together, but your room… Well, frankly, it’s a pigsty, and you had multiple piles of clothes just lying there. Not to mention towels.

“Well, it was a pigsty. I cleaned up a little. Anyway, you’ll likely be feeling weak for a few more days… There's no telling how high that pile would be by then. So, I just decided to take care of it.”

His face felt like it was on fire, and not because of a fever. “Put it back, please,” he begged.

Seri snorted. “Why?”

“Because I’m a grown man and I don’t need someone else to wash my clothes for me.”

“Severo, it’s a bit too late for that. They have already been washed.
